Apparently 28 spills recorded in bristol this morning - including me:wacko:. I'm okay though. Saw three people in front of me on the Railway Path take a tumble. Even MTB riders were sliding all over the place. Bristol Council need to perk up about the Railway Path in conditions like this. There are grit bins, but they tend to be full of beer cans, litter and...er... other smelly stuff:angry:.

Anyone else take an unexpected slide today?.

I gave the chocolate path a miss for the same reason...

A work colleague fell off and broke his hip. He's having surgery in the BRI right now.

I rode at 0600hrs from Clay bottom to the Dramway this morning with no problem. Icy but what do you expect, rode the Dramway to Coxcroft hill lane, and that was where the worst of the ice was, back wheel was snaking all over the place.

I nearly had an off right outside work. The front wheel started to go out underneath me, managed to recover it though. A colleague in training and sitting next to me came off twice once on the Aztec West rbt and then again on the closed section of Highwood Lane. On one of the offs he said he slid a long way and his top rode up and got some road rash on his back.

Ouch to all that fell! I woke up and decided I wouldn't cycle in as the roads near me were terrible, no gritting on any roads out near me aside from 3 or 4 in the town. Didn't fancy a new leg/shoulder

I momentarily lost traction near home at about 6 am but nothing worth batting an eyelid over. My feet felt like blocks of ice when I got in to work. I might take the MTB tomorrow instead of the road bike.

Black ice sent me flying in the opposite direction of my bike today, thankfully not on a road with traffic!

A friend works on the road at the end of the Bristol and Bath path, he arrived at work ok but slipped when trying to go and get milk. He also saw the police encouraging cyclists walk down the road as so many had come off at the other end!

I reported what looked to be loads of diesel spilled on the ring road path yesterday between the pencils and the Dramway roundabout, though I'm hoping the rain yesterday washed a lot of it away.

If your colleague was a 62 uear old man, he slid right after me and another man called an ambulance for him. Hope he gets better soon!
