Seriously, I reckon Otley would suit both your needs and could be cheaper to buy a place in.

Visit CafeCafe up Newmarket street.From the Market Square face the pub The Bull and it's the street to the left.I will give you permission to sit in my seat.It's the first one near the door.

I think the main consideration is how easy is it to get the shopping, visit the doctor/dentist and generally get around as the time may be nearer than you think to give up the car
