hello everyone. I have slick tyres on my road bike and get nervous in the rain. should I buy some other tyres for wet weather? if yes any1 have any suggestions?
cheers just doesn't make sense? motorbikes wouldn't use slick tyres for the rain?
Because they can travel a lot faster then a bicycle.
ahh right so ill be fine with my slicks?
Grippiness in wet is down to the rubber compound quality.
Tread is to prevent aquaplaning - which is impossible on a bicycle because of low speeds
Tread is helpfull in mud off road, but that's a different thing,
If you've not got good grip in wet, try different (better) smooth tyres and or ride slower,
Tread will reduce grip further - assuming equal rubber quality.
You don't need to tell me.. tell the OP.
Iirc a 40psi tyre at 60mph can aquaplane, a motorbike can do it a cyclist can't.cheers just doesn't make sense? motorbikes wouldn't use slick tyres for the rain?
Yip ;-)ahh right so ill be fine with my slicks?
They usually use tarmac to cover pot holes round here.try to keep off white lines and metal road furniture ie pot hole covers etc etc
OT, the majority of the covers in Northern France, Picarde were like that. They usually use tarmac to cover pot holes round here.![]()
