slick tyres in the rain?

hello everyone. I have slick tyres on my road bike and get nervous in the rain. should I buy some other tyres for wet weather? if yes any1 have any suggestions?

Because they can travel a lot faster then a bicycle.

Grippiness in wet is down to the rubber compound quality.
Tread is to prevent aquaplaning - which is impossible on a bicycle because of low speeds

Tread is helpfull in mud off road, but that's a different thing,

If you've not got good grip in wet, try different (better) smooth tyres and or ride slower,
Tread will reduce grip further - assuming equal rubber quality.

ahh right so ill be fine with my slicks?

Yep, just watch various areas of the road such as drains, painted lines and an interesting point in the other thread, petrol stations.
It's mainly common sense, take corners slower than you would normally, stopping shall take longer etc.
