Hi all,
Well I finally fitted brakes myself and they work well however there is a slight rub and the distance to bite is much less than it was. How do loosen this without affecting the gears (housed in the same lever). The brake is Shimano RS785 160.
Thanks

Slight rub is usually corrected by loosening the calliper bolts, squeezing the brakes on and tightening the bolts again whilst still holding the brake, for me anyway. The bite might be adjustable from the levers, which have you got (I think RS785 refers to the calliper?) ?

From my experience it’s best done in this order:
1 push down on handlebars and tighten skewer

2 undo Caliper hex bolts, spin wheel, squeeze brake on hard and do nuts back up while squeezing

3 bend disk with an adjustable wtench

Only do 3 if 1+2 don’t work
