FYI - You can correct a typo in a thread title really easily. Just hover your mouse over where it says 'Thread Tool' in the top right, then from the drop down box that appears just select 'Edit Title'
I've had to use one of my own threads to illustrate as obviously it doesn't give me the option to edit your thread title
As for slime tubes, I don't like them myself. Used them once on an MTB years ago and found them to be very heavy and also messy when inflating the tyres. Others may have different experiences
Decent tyres, (don't have to be mega ££'s), and correct tyre pressures are the best puncture deterrent system you can use IMO.
If you don't have a
TRACK PUMP then get one, (but not from Aldi/Lidl!). Hand pumps, and Aldi/Lidl track pumps simply cannot generate enough pressure.
Then check your pressures regularly and keep them topped up.
Also check your tyres after rides for any debris embedded in them, thorns, glass, flint whatever, and if you find any get it out. Left in it will just embed itself further in as you ride and ultimately penetrate the casing and into your tube.
+1 for Gatorskins, they're all I use on my best bike nowadays but they're not exactly cheap!
That said I have just ordered some Schwalbe Luganos for my new n+1 as I didn't want to spend a lot and they are well reviewed as a low cost tyre option.
