I've just bought myself a B'Twin Triban 520 which is in need of being kitted out.
Can anyone recommend a nice light pannier rack for this? Also smallish bags.

Have you had a look at Alpkits Mool Rack and Panniers?

My bags are 12L

They say the clip ons dont fit the rack, due to a fat weld, but i filed down the clip/weld and it fits nice. The next set of Mool Racks they get in should fit.

They did have a set of pannier bags on a deal recently ...

But it is 2× 20l and 2×5L bags for £85, no option for the 12L

I use Tubus racks because they are bomb proof. With regards to the panniers. When I am light touring, I use my Ortleib front rollers on the back. I even use them on my carbon road bike, with a seat post pannier rack.

Thanks for the replies, just looking at some products.

For the rack

I was also thinking of getting this instead of traditional panniers.

When I do get out and about, I am VERY short distance compared to the rest of you, so was just looking for something to carry stuff for repairs and extra water/food.
Quality kit, mine are fantastic but I'd be more tempted to get the DXP with drop down panniers that's on offer lower down the page. You'll be surprised how usefull they are and then they 'zip-away' when not needed.

Be careful that you get the rack thats compatible with the bag , there are different standards and they dont fit together if you , or in my case the shop gets it wrong .

Good , i can only offer advice on my experience
The same bag had a track that was too wide for the supposedly compatible rack .
