Hi
Im new to your website so I’m posting as a beginner-
Yesterday something metal fell from my front, 3-speed shimano derailleur. Today on my ride it turn cockeyed and tree the chain. I’ve got another one from a different bike but before I think about swapping it out I wanted to get some advice. Maybe someone knows how to diagnose the problem from a photo (thank you internet and cyclechat).
advance thanks for any assistance.

:welcome: The cage plates need to be parallel to the chainring.
The side on image suggests the FD is set too far back. The red sticky shows where it should be set: front edge of cage at about 12 o'clock (chainring).
Share an image from side on, other side, also showing cable clamp.
