Hi, so recently I have realized that as I try to shift my chain from the small ring to the big ring in the front derailleur a lot of times it does not get to the big ring. However my question is when I try to shift it to the big ring, why it does feel a bit harder to pedal yet the chain has not moved to the bigger ring when I take a look. Thanks

I suspect you have just discovered the power of confirmation bias - it feels harder because you expect it to feel harder.

If you're trying to shift up to the big ring, not doing so and thus remaining in the small ring and it still feels harder to pedal, could it be that you've lost momentum through the whole non-shifting process, slowed down and are now in too high a gear?

Edited to add: might want to check your front derailleur limit screws and cable tension, so you can actually shift up to the big ring!
