That's all the money i've saved over the past 20 years of cutting my own hair down the swanny.

£7.80 for me. I say, 'take nine', and that leaves me with a quid to get out of the car park. Unless she's stinking of fags, then I just wait silently for all my change.

I don't tip my hairdresser, partly because I rarely get an appointment with the girl I prefer to see but mainly because I pay by card and it's awkward handing over cash. I'm usually attended to by several people taking my coat, brining tea and crap magazines, washing, cutting, drying, etc that I've no idea who to give the money to and how it would get divided up. I rarely tip anyone anyway and that's only if they provide an exceptional service.

Reminds me of the time I was getting my haircut at what turned out to be a hairdressers, the cutter remarked that she could see I had been at a barbers for my previous cut. Miaoooww!

the last time i went to a barbers i came out with the worst mullet ever... it would have made both Billy Ray Cyrus and Pat Sharp look 'cool'... I didn't cut my hair for 16 years after that. Then i bought some clippers and give myself a trim every month or so... clippers cost £18... which is my sum total of hair cutting expenses since 1989

My last cut and colour cost me £140 and I still had to shell out another £7 to get my fringe trimmed a few weeks later, the cheeky swines. It's not even any better than my usual £90 do but I was being lazy and had it done in Battersea rather than schlepping all the way to Paddington for it.

I know! I used to go to a place in Yoker where the man would razor cut my hair for £8. I don't mean that he scalped me, more that he managed to make my hair look halfway decent using a cutthroat razor even when my hair was down past my bum. I miss him

The man who owned the business took it over from his father and was a bit of a cheeky smug tosspot but harmless enough and did a good job on my hair. One of those flash people who wears shiny, pointy shoes and too much aftershave. Like I said, it was past my bum back then so one false move and the whole lot would have been on the floor.
