So then, what rivals cycling for you?

What other hobby gives you as much pleasure as cycling does?

I ask because I have just got in from a ride in very April-ish weather (sun, rain, dark cloud and pelting hail) but luckily with the wind at my back for three hours, got home and realised that the dramatic lighting demanded a few photographs, which brings me to my other hobby: film photography or more specifically rangefinder camera film photography. I've got three film bodies loaded at the moment with colour slide, black and white and black and white infrared film, the latter for producing spooky, ethereal pictures.

Rangefinder cameras are not necessarily cheap and I luckily got into this when prices were on the bottom (they are now climbing dramatically as people realise that there are bargains to be had and that digital just can't compete with the mechanics of film and developing your own stuff, it's the difference between a craft and a production line). This is not a thing to pursue if you are one of those unfortunates who cannot control their urges and who is therefore prone to collecting things.

The best thing about it is that you can combine the two hobbies: the bits and pieces of one being nicely portable in the top rack bag of the other.

Mine is Xbox. I am only on it though when I dont have college work to do, or time to go out on my bike.

Andy, I've got a very old and tired Olympus 35 RC and a broken Olympus 35 RD, both respected rangefinders. Do you think anybody would want them for spares?

Sex on a train has certain attractions. I'm not so sure about sex with a train!

I used to do a lot of sea fishing in Scotland but down here (Norfolk Coast) I find it a bit of a chore standing out on a beach catching only small fish. I am also into photography but digital I am afraid, film seems to be to much hassle and I kissed goodbye to my Olympus OM4TI of some 20 years goodbye and traded in for a Nikon.

You'd probably get some takers on the Rangefinder Forum (just google that for the www address) and you might even be able to get a couple of bob for them.
