I am hoping to give the hack a bit of a service this afternoon if it stays dry long enough:rain::smile:.

Well, I chose the turbo today and just pushed out an hour in front of the rugby. Cooling down before getting showered.

What rain? I had a lovely spin out on a trike today, bright sun most of the time.

Just the one road still closed due to flooding as well...

I'm going to complain to the MET office ...
Wow, I'm only a few miles north of you but had a great ride. The rain started when it got dark, but bright blue skies until after lunch.

I have notice on more occasions than would be coincidental, that sometimes the Solent seems to have its very own personal cloud when everywhere else is fine 'n' dry .... ;)

At other times, however, it's the other way around!

York has a very noticeable micro-climate. Probably something to do with being in a plain surrounded by hills. It can be raining all day in Leeds, and Hull, and glorious here, or vice versa...

Oh, and when I was at my sister's last time, little nephew Oli was looking out of the bedroom window one evening (he likes to look at the streetlights), and wanted the window open: "Mummy, open!". Mummy said no, because it's raining and the wet will get in. He asked again and got the same reply. So he said "Mummy, stop rain!". She was touched, but had to admit to not having quite that level of power...;)

Left for a ride at 7.30am this morning. A bit of rain.. gawd I thought, here we go this is going to last all day. By 9am the rain and cloud had cleared to leave a beautiful sunny day (pics here). Once it got dark it started to rain again, but not heavy.
Tomorrow though is not looking good.

Ah, you are that far south, are you. I thought you were nearer Basingstoke / Alton for some reason.

We've a cottage on the Solent, I've been sailing there since I was 6 months old (apparently, I don't remember it much) and we often notice what we have always called "The Solent Hole". It's nothing to do with the girl from the chipshop in Warsash but because it is surrounded by hills. The clouds clear as the air drops to the Solent so, more often than not, we got loads of sunshine.

I had a nice trip up to Oldham town centre...(apart from the kid's playing up)..............

My wife has found a new supply of fabric..OMG...it was like loads of market stalls.....I am vanishing under fabric..where is the bike.........balls.......

TBH, the market in Oldham is the best I've been anywhere near in years....... they've even dropped in a ice rink for the kids for £1....... and a little mini 'xmas market' that Manchester has gone OTT, and it's too much...... good on Oldham.......
