I go for the blunt end because it seems easier to peel being of a gentler curvature. Also, it sits more firmly and lower in the egg cup with the pointy side downwards. I'm curious why other people might not agree with this obvious wisdom.

BTW, knife beheaders need not respond.

Blunt end in egg cup, hit side of egg with edge of teaspoon, insert teaspoon in crack and lift off the top. Eat the contents of the top and then the rest.

I'm interested in this peeling idea. A new one for me.

Can't remember the last time I had a soft boiled egg.

As a kid I had a gadget for slicing the top off the egg. It was part of some sort of craft kit where you could decorate the empty egg shell - it had a nice straight edge if you'd used the gadget properly.
