Managed to harvest over 40 (kWh) for last couple of days, and looking promising for the next few days as well.

Is anyone using Octopus Flux yet ? Kept meaning to look at it and only just got round to.
If my calculations are right - current tariff bill is about 40 quid all in for May. If i was selling back - it would be under 20 quid ?

I'm on flux, waiting for this months bill to come in, but for April I used £24 from the grid and exported £160. Gas use is mainly standing charges. I've reduced my DD down to £10 a month which is still probably too much.

If I could be bothered I could export over half the batteries at peak export rate but it's a bit of a faff with my growatt inverter/I'm too lazy 🤣

Ah dagnabbit - I should have looked into this weeks ago - summer will be long over !

"When we are receiving your meter readings, we will contact the DNO to set up your MPAN and configure your smart meter. This can take up to 6 weeks."

My SO is 144 quid a month for both gas and electric and I've just noticed I've edged into credit this month after the nasty winter shock of higher energy prices and us needing to use more. Still just the petrol bills for the EV would be more than this anyway so I can't complain too much.

Are you not exporting already? I thought you were.

I've stayed on Agile incoming & Fixed 15p outgoing, the eye watering standing charge &the rates between 16:00 & 19:30 have put me off.

Never moved of flexible. I’ve got two at home just now , so fair bit is consumed during the day . Even with solar . Funnily enough we are away on holiday and MIL is staying at home dog sitting for us . My consumption has massively dropped !!

I was on agile incoming before I moved to flux. As I have batteries it is highly unlikely I will use any electricity at the higher rate, even in the winter when I would look to charge the batteries overnight at the cheap rate.

Foolish me doubting octopus. I'll be starting on flux tomorrow. Not the full six weeks to wait...

I'll monitor the usage but I don't think the exporting figures will be worth me staying on flux after the summer.

The pricier peak rate hours don't worry me - not really using any at peak thanks to the batteries.

Our batteries peak at 3K output, wife cooks the grandkids evening meal in that timeframe 3 times a week, so with oven, hob etc. on we do pull a little from the grid, granted only a little if they all happen to be heating up at the same time.

We have gone to an air fryer after seeing how much electric the oven used.

Been a good week , nearly all last week whilst away , my mother in law stayed at our house , managed to survive on the solar all week. Shows the difference, when not doing washing everyday etc .

This week looks even better , batteries already back to 50% , should be fully charged by 10.00am .
Exporting plenty as well , so at least getting something back .

Could probably do better in one of Octopus flux tarrifs ? Will wait though for the new unit prices to flow through .
