Solar road

The worlds first solar cycle path has been opened in Holland. It is a test bed of 100m and is designed to be skid resistent. I would have preferred 'Skidproof'. But it looks like an exciting project and the Dutch are very good at this innovation lark.

Thunderfoot is quite good. He's able to use science (I suppose it helps him being a physicist and astronomer) to break down the failings in an idea and show if its worthwhile or not.

I can see them handling light use from bikes and peds (not that I have any insight into the durability/traction requirements of those use cases).

I'd be surprised if they ever become commercially viable beyond a few special installations (cue universal revolution in road surfaces).

Perhaps they should be many more places, but bicycles only. And the occasional moose.
