Solid tyres. Anyone use them?

I just read the link. If you wish to market a product, and your literacy is questionable, hire somebody to write your copy for you. Otherwise, your credibility is bound to suffer. As an MA and D.Litt., I'm obviously biased, but I simply couldn't get past the spelling mistakes.

Why develop something other than air to fill a tube with? It's light, it works very well, it's readily available and it's free.
It doesn't work very well, you get punctures! and the air leaks out so you have to pump it up to pressure every now and then.

Did anyone notice the link in my 1st post? I know it's advertising bumf, but surely if a tyre is lighter, just as comfy, lasts as long as a normal tyre, and is impervious to punctures it's a good thing? Has no one tried a Tannus tyre?

Well I haven't tried Tannus, but as I understand it it is the same thing as Greentyres except for the pins, and I have ridden on Greentyres for a long time and they are not as comfy as the pneumatic tires but that depends on the surface. On a smooth paved surface you wont notice a difference, and riding over a tramcar trail you would prefer the Greentyres before the pneumatics.

There are a few members are trying out Tannus Tyres. Impressions seem to be mixed. Have a look at these threads for starters:

The number of punctures i get is negligible... and topping up the air every month or two isn't what I'd call a problem. However i've not tried 'solid' tyres... do they present any problems?
