what if i grind the chain ring down to size?

Googling "Mighty" chainsets suggests the crank and chain ring are all on piece, ie the chain ring is not detachable. Is this the case?

naa the chain ring is detachable, iv thought about that, but i cant fing a 46 tooth single that is thinner than 1/8

There must be loads of them . You can use one built for a double/triple, it's just that the shifting ramps on it will be redundant. How many arms does the crank have? What is the distance between adjacent chainring fixing bolts?

5 bolts, 5cm to the outer spike, 4.5cm to the inner ditch
