Send it back. End of.
I was going to offer you some advice but since you are so rude I don't think I will.
Why did you buy a bike that was at the other end of the country and not an LBS? Are you a tight wad and bought it on the internet for the cheapest price you could find?
You're such a dillon.
OKay, thanks for the replies. Sending it back seems quite extreme and will be a lot of hassle and at the moment it is in the LBS at Weston Super Mare, where it will be repaired, checked over and the bill sent to the people I bought from - due to whom I bought from, they are the other end of the country.
Does this sound like the right way to go instead, or should I send it back and complain direct to Cannondale about the state of the bike?
No reason you cant do both. Get it repaired at their cost so you have the working bike you want, then once it's all set write/email Cannondale telling them about your dissatisfaction.
Suggestions of sending the whole thing back are equally suitable, but I know if it was me I wouldn't want to after finally getting a new bikeIf however, they were refusing to pay the complete and full cost of the repairs to get it as new, then I would send it back.
