DO NOT wash alloy parts in the dishwasher; the hot caustic solution actually erodes the finish. Guess how I know this?
Surely Muc Off is the way :okay:

Had similar problems in my house.
Car windscreen washer bottle was grubby so I popped it in the dishwasher. Some bits on a car I am restoring had been treated and needed baking in an oven, so I used the cooker. Mrs B couldn't see my point and for some reason got a bit cross.

Lesson learned now

Do them when she is out of the house for a few hours..
Probably ruined her cooking!

All I did was pop the summer tyres in the washing machine on a 20 degree quick wash before storing them away for the winter!!
Well, if the tyres were really dirty the debris could clog the waste pipe.
I think it would be quicker washing them in a bucket or on the wheels anyway.

the wife's not to keen when i put my paint rollers in for a wash . they do come out like new when finished and are perfect for the next job
Now, this is really interesting, as I have a full house to paint!
Do you rinse them first in running water?
Spin them too?
Is there any residue paint left in the machine after, do you do an empty wash?

How'd the salmon turn out?
I've never tried it being both vegetarian and not having a dishwasher. My mother is the one for cooking fish in the dishwasher and I'm told that it is excellent and very moist. Stange really given that you are effectively streaming it!

The microwave is great for sterilising compost.
I really like that idea. It would kill all the silver birch and nettles seeds that usual find their way into my compost. And it only ever gets used for heating up milk!

As for the washing machine, trainers would be normal. I often put my outdoor shoes in them. The oily rags only go through it after a soak in a bucket though. I do prefer to get some of the oil off first.

Mrs Pete seemed to get a bit uppity! Can't see why. After all, it is a washing machine..

Came up a treat, they did. (yes, they are folding tyres)

:becool:

As long as you do a hot wash to remove any oily residues before you put any clothes in!
Think about the dirty ring you get around the bucket or sink after you wash bike gear.
