Similar thing for me. My pal collapsed on a bike ride and I and another administered CPR. The paramedics took over when they got there and eventually (about an hour) got his heart going again. He was on breathing assist in hospital but the damage had been done and they removed the assist.

It wasn't my fault and it isn't yours @Drago . Stuff happens - you do what you can but the damage is too great. C'est la vie.
Now look after yourself - that's the priority :okay:

Wandered across just to see how they are and offer my condolences. Dads back, he's a senior Army officer, which I didnt know despite having lived opposite for the last 6 years. Ive looked him in the eye and promised him Man-O-Man that I did everything I could. He told me that he knows any gave me a hug. Older son gave me a hug, and Mum too. They've got a load of family so I just offered my my condolences, told them that if they need anything doing they need only ask, and withdrew.

I've had my (almost) cry now, so its out my system. Its still terribly tragic and unfair, but my heads round it. Because it was an unexpected death I'm doubtless going to be hassled by CID or CPT for a statement for the coroners office, but they can bloody well come and take one from me. All the tiresome stuff is to come now, and if I can ill put in an appearance at the funeral.

You really are a Star Drago.

I was never bothered by officialdom over my pal's death. Cop took my name and address at the scene. That was it.

I've checked with work, its being officially written off as natural causes so they shouldn't get too much hassle now, which is something. Some kind if anaphylactic reaction.
