Years ago we (MrsD in particular) were having problems with a family. They had moved into the area and we befriended them.......it went horribly wrong.
At her lowest point I bought her Bridge Over Troubled Waters by Simon & Garfunkle.
It helped her a lot. Still gets me emotionally. It came on radio 2 earlier and it had the same effect.
BTW.....years later that family fell apart. Maybe wrong of me but I enjoyed seeing that happen.

This takes me back to sitting by my wife in her hospital bed, not sure if she was waking up again. Then by chance, we were driving home from my sister's after being at her side as she passed away and this came on the radio. I had to pull over and howl at the side of the road.

There's a particular track off a recent album that gets me every time, not because it's a sad song but because my best friend died before I could play it to him.

I was telling him about it in the last phone call we had.

My sister's favourite song was "The Rose" by Bett Midler. We played it at her funeral, well up every time I hear it now.
