This morning for no particular reason Dignity by Deacon Blue came into my head and I spent a good 5-10 minutes singing it out load (getting ready this morning!). I just love singing that song and it's one of the few songs I know all of the lyrics to.

It got me thinking, what songs do you love singing to?

Another of mine (notice the Scottish theme here!) would have to be I'm gonna be (500 miles) by The Proclaimers

Neither of these bears any resemblance to my normal taste in Music, honest!!;)

If there is one song I HATE above all others, that makes me want to commit axe murder then it's Dignity by Deacon soddin' Blue.

Singing Thunder Road by Springsteen brings me round

I can't listen to 'Born to Run' or 'Bat out of Hell' without wanting to sing along. I also can't chance having them in the car, as by the end I'm always going a good bit quicker...
  5. Harvest for the World by the Isley Brothers (I think). Its very singable.

Exactly what I thought of when I read the thread title. I've got great memories of me and my wife singing (her) / shouting (me) along to this whenever it came on when we were driving through New Zealand a couple of years ago. It will forever remind me of the road into Dunedin ;)
  8. 'Free Bird' by Lynrd Skynrd...just a few words and 15 mins of air guitar + finger tapping etc A good song for shouters. ;)

London Calling by the Clash will always get me singing along well if you can call my tone deaf attempt singing.

I remember sitting in my tent in the early hours of the morning at Glastonubry a few years ago listening to the hillside singing 500 miles. The lyrics swept around me as my neighbours joined in!

But, as a treat for you lovely people, i'll sing one of my favourites for you right now- here are the lyrics to 'nothing but flowers' by talking heads for those who want to sing along <passes out songsheet>

drummer! quick shuffle please! guitar-think latin!

    Here we stand
Like an Adam and an Eve
    The Garden of Eden
    Two fools in love
    So beautiful and strong
    The birds in the trees
    Are smiling upon them
From the age of the dinosaurs
    Cars have run on gasoline
    Where, where have they gone?
    Now, it's nothing but flowers

    There was a factory
Now there are mountains and rivers
you got it, you got it

    We caught a rattlesnake
Now we got something for dinner
we got it, we got it

    There was a shopping mall
Now it's all covered with flowers
you've got it, you've got it

    If this is paradise
    I wish I had a lawnmower
you've got it, you've got it

    Years ago
I was an angry young man
    I'd pretend
    That I was a billboard
    Standing tall
By the side of the road
    I fell in love
    With a beautiful highway
This used to be real estate
Now it's only fields and trees
    Where, where is the town
    Now, it's nothing but flowers
    The highways and cars
    Were sacrificed for agriculture
I thought that we'd start over
But I guess I was wrong

    Once there were parking lots
    Now it's a peaceful oasis
you got it, you got it

    This was a Pizza Hut
Now it's all covered with daisies
you got it, you got it

    I miss the honky tonks,
    Dairy Queens, and 7-Elevens
you got it, you got it

    And as things fell apart
    Nobody paid much attention
you got it, you got it

    I dream of cherry pies,
Candy bars, and chocolate chip cookies
you got it, you got it

    We used to microwave
Now we just eat nuts and berries
you got it, you got it

    This was a discount store,
Now it's turned into a cornfield
you got it, you got it

    Don't leave me stranded here
I can't get used to this lifestyle

    :becool:Well done everyone:becool:
