Very happy with the groupset and everything else.
If I had known then what I know now I would have changed the crank to a compact and the biggest change I would make is go for a Gran Fondo frame.
The alloy Audex frame I bought if fine but has not changed in 20 years.

Why did you go for the GIANT DEFY?

Because the magazine told him so....

Why does anyone go for any bike?

Lots of online research, followed by a shortlist of bikes that fit your criteria, and you like the look of.
Finally test ride your shortlist before buying.
I almost bought a Cube peleton pro and a Specialised Allez Elite, before going for the Giant

Thanks for the help, Im going to order an alloy frame with 105s, maybe I was being too discerning about gear I don't know too much about, Ive settled on the ribble sportive 7005 frame with 105s, once I add pedals and shoes that comes to £900 and there about. its one of their cheaper frames but miles ahead of what I have got at the moment. I did check out some of the suggestions that was put on this thread so thanks for that. I only do road cycling so im thinking this bike will last a good few years, well the wife said it better because Im not getting another one, if she done 50 miles on a FS 200 quid bike I think she would change her mind  Ill post a pic once I get it, now all I need to do is hope that this weather gets better, it was bloody snowing this morning.

Just wondered why you specifically bought a GIANT DEFY.

What's your opinion of it compared to other bikes?

I recently test rode the Giant Defy 1 and found it to be a fantastic bike, very responsive and easy to ride with the 105`s, it was In my very humble and inexperienced opinion a fantastic bike BUT being all of the above i chose to go with the Specialized Roubaix with Soras (upgarde when i can) because it was a little easier to ride for my slightly older frame and the carbon shakes out the bumps a little more..this is only my opinion..
