sora vs tiagra

    will i notice much difference???...complete newbie to the road

    difference of £200 on the bike

    as above. but if you prefer the sora shifters with the thumb button, you won't be losing too much.

    The sora shifters change to smaller cogs by using a thumb button.

    For most people this means that you can't change gear while in the drops. If that bothers you, go Tiagra - they change to smaller cogs using a paddle that is easily reachable from hoods or drops. Personally I like Tiagra a lot better than I liked the Sora shifters. YMMV.

    Slightly off topic, whenever someone types 'tiagra' it reminds me of 'viagra'....
