Around the corner he is inevitably held up by more traffic lights and he is in the left turn lane and I am in the right. The lights change before I get to them but he doesnt move. As I approach, I feel the need to give him some of his own medicine (wrong move).
He quickly turns right and follows me, cutting up a van in the process. He pulls along side me and forces me into some parked cars on the left. So I stop and he starts getting out.

There is the problem Matt, but then you probably knew that. Sounds like you dealt okay with the initial encounter, after that you just need to let it go. Once these things have happened I will sometimes hold back at lights and not filter for the sake of not giving the imbecile in question another chance for a close pass or another round of abuse.

Oh and always make sure you ride ascertively and make like a vehicle.

A colleague spotted me a few weeks back at a weekend out training - no where near work routes, 8 miles from my home and miles from where he lives. He said he 'recognised' my agressive riding style . He's also a cyclist BTW. It was me as well. Just so happened the traffic was very heavy due to road works near a village - out came commuter mode !

The BRIGHT red bike also helps

Well I hadnt had any incidents before this one. It was the first, and only one of the day.

No, I never said you had. Please don't think I was having a go, that wasn't my intention. All I'm saying is that I find having a camera helps me cycle better, and that you should keep filming wih yours, that's all.

I used to get involved in this sort of thing, got punched once, had a car go up the pavement to try and catch up with me

I don't anymore, it serves no purpose at all, just gets you upset and runs the risk of getting hurt/into bother with the cops

On the whole now I manage a very zen mood, with the odd hard stare or sad shake of the head

Well I am in a bit of a love/hate relationship with my camera at the moment. The time lapse has frozen on the video so I have to use my watch to calculate my average at the end of the ride. I have no idea why it has frozen but it is very annoying.
