I got it. gonna shoot across london bridge then hang a right, Hopefully traffic wont be too crazy around 11pm
Cars won't be the problem, but watch out for drunks heading for the last trains.

I've always used the stairs when walking but that's not going to be easily done in cycling shoes carrying a bike. Mystified how a 'short' escalator can take me down the same distance drop to Waterloo Road. I'm sure its around 24 flights of stairs. Point me the way ...
Just follow the signs at Waterloo East for Waterloo. Not for the exit. It's a short escalator down. Turn right at the bottom and exit Waterloo at the main entrance, which is (almost) at street level.

Do i need to walk down a set of stairs to get to the meeting point?? and is there anyone passing through Liverpool street station that wants to make the journey to the meeting point together to save me the hassle of mapping?[/Q

Hi Roubaix, I'm getting into Fenchurch Street around 11 if that's near enough?

Or there's another short escalator that drops you almost opposite the Wellington pub

No worries. I'll slow down or stop for a minute or two at just at the top of the road before it joins the A10 that goes across the bridge if youre still around. I'll try to make 11 but i will probably be closer to 11.15 knowing my luck so its upto you if you want to make the route together.

It's OK thanks - I know my way. Just wondered if you needed guiding through, but if you're OK I'll see you there!

It's a bit more complicated than that...

Or there are two exits which are at street level, one opposite the suburban platforms 1 - 5 into the cab rank and one opposite platform 7-ish to the bike racks. Go down the hill, straight over the pedestrian crossing, underneath the underpass past the Waterloo Tap then right around the Festival Hall onto the South Bank. It's worth walking the last bit to avoid conflict with drunk pedestrians.

(@rb58 you probably know all of that, but some people might not.)

From Victoria (for the minority of riders coming from south-east London), Fridays Central new edition is probably a simpler ride than old edition. Just turn right out of the station, keep going along Victoria Street until you get to Parliament then turn right over Westminster Bridge. When you get to the pedestrian crossing, hoick up onto the pavement to go behind City Hall, nod to the ghost of the GLC and follow Belvedere Road until it becomes the back door of the Festival Hall.

Have a lovely time everyone - I'm with you in spirit.

Ready! Excited! Wales v Ireland to come. Then I'm off. Slighty nervous as well out of practice, might need to prop up the rear so to speak. New bike lights are fitted and are very bright, but won't dazzle those behind!

Quick questions

To save me a backpack to carry my D-lock in will someone help me out by locking my bike to theirs at J31 please?

Is there a coffee stall under waterloo bridge at the meet point or near by?

Am SO annoyed with myself but arranged a delivery for tomorrow and turns out I'm first on there round at 9am. No way of getting back in time so have to cancel. Had been looking forward to this for ages especially as it was likely the only one I could do.
Anyway, looks like nice weather.... safe cycling.
