Well, I'd not be expecting people who normally come into London on a Victoria train line* to suddenly be coming into Waterloo instead? Wouldn't meeting inside Waterloo station add quite a detour & delay for them?

*As I may well be on the night.
Indeed, but some gather at Victoria from other stations....

Fair enough.

It's a bit more complicated than that...

No.

To get to the South Bank from Victoria it's quite sensible to ride over Westminster Bridge, and from the south of Westminster Bridge it's as sensible to go via Waterloo (turn left past County Hall and right at the RFH) as it is to ride straight to the meeting point.

Alternatively, almost all trains to Victoria stop at Cla'am junction, from where it's a simple change to Westminster.

[edit]
I suppose what I'm saying is that Victoria has been convenient because for a smallish but influential minority it's been the obvious terminus. When we met at the South Bank before there were a good dozen of us who congregated at Waterloo.

Westminster? Except I thought CLJ a step-free free zone if you see what I mean. Though the descent from Waterloo East (for LBG luvvies) will make the rest of the trip seem nowt in comparison

Waterloo, not Westminster. Doh. Almost all local trains for Waterloo stop at Cla'am, as do almost all local trains for Victoria. And at the relevant sort of time on a Friday night, almost all trains into either terminus are "local".

No. CLJ is a SouthEastern free zone.

Many, if not most, of the trains for Victoria are Southern, not SouthEastern.

In any case, as I've posted above, Waterloo is an utterly trivial diversion on the route from Victoria to the South Bank - considerably more trivial than Victoria is as a diversion for getting to the place that shall nevermore be mentioned (HPC) from any other London terminus.

Waterloo station is about 2 minutes traffic-free walk from the South Bank. Victoria to the big arch was a good 5 minutes bike ride around a death-inspiring roundabout.

Form sent - finally hoping to make a ride having signed up last year and failed miserably to attend even one ride *

Form filled in.

Now I just need to work out where the start is :okay:

(My original plan to be otherwise engaged while cold in A Long Country was over-ambitious for the time available so it's been postponed for a year so I have sufficient time to do it properly.)
