Been up and had a look and a quick ride around. Nice bike need to seriously decide on build spec or if I go with Genesis CDF from Local bike shop. Issue with SPA is choice, problem at the minute with CDF is frame only colour is girlie IMHO. As to Spa,s place the showroom is not massive or flashy which tbh i wouldn't expect it to be. If you go beyond the showroom the place is mahoosive, the guy I dealt with said most of their trade is Internet based.
Just got to make my mind up now.

Well, as I mentioned upthread, I was not in the market for a new bicycle, but the need was bestowed upon me by some scrote.

I weighed up the option of a ready made bike from the usual brands (cheaper) or Spa (dearer).

But, once I started changing things on the standard bikes, the costs racked up. With Spa I was able to change things for free/ minor additional fees and I have pretty much got a bespoke build. Deposit paid. Awaiting collection. Copper Elan.

Yes, they were very flexible with me too, especially as put a load of SRAM parts on the counter to use plus of course saddle and bartape.
As someone else posted, if you're ok with their 'standard(ish)' build spec, they do sometimes have some great ex display deals online

A pity about the circumstances, but an excellent choice

Arranging to go and have a test ride. Sadly I've been thrown a curve ball. It's been suggested a Stanforth Kibo might be an alternative. Only issue would be that for the build I'm after it would have to be bar end shifters. Never used them so wondering what there like to use. Only ever used sti or downtime friction shifters.

Bar end shifters have fewer working parts than STIs so, in theory, less likely to break down.
