SPD sandals?

I've read of such things on American websites, but have never seen them for sale. Does anyone know if I can a pair of mens sandals with SPD cleats?

I would probably say not a great idea with a big spikey chain ring next to your toes, but I believe they are made.

You can also get SPD trainers - I have a pair for pottering about with family.

Why? I’m sure they are excellent for relaxed touring in hot climes.
but presumably you’re a racer, so disco slippers more appropriate 👍
or maybe you don’t even ride outside…

I once rode to the pub with a mate on my tandem, we had to stop at one point and turn back to retrieve his flip flop, which clearly did not come with spd fittings. For the record, he did not advise cycling in flip flops.

I can see a use for them touring in a hot summer / climate and no need to pack another pair of off the bike footwear.

+1 for the Shimanos that @DCLane pointed out. On the bike, they're the only footwear I use between May and October. Brilliant when it's hot or wet.

You can get SPD Crocs (or Croc copies) I think. I'm sure I've seen them. (Never been tempted to buy them though!!)

SPD sandals are quite popular with recumbent trike riders.

They can be used in winter as well, just wear warm walking socks. Popular with audaxer on long events.
