Yes, I have one that I use for transport purposes i.e. going to the shops, a friends house or most likely the pub.

For this purpose the bike is well up to the task. I have ridden up to 40 miles on it and suffered no adverse effects, with respect to comfort.

I also have a road bike, MTB and Brompton, so for me it is part of the fleet and used for a specific purpose, at which it does well.

For me, I wouldn't want to use it for something other than transport or the pub, but that's because I am lucky enough to have different bikes for different purposes.

Could it work as a standalone, clearly yes, but if you didn't need it to do everything and were only looking for one use, such as road, then a specific road bike may be better suited. Possible a jack of all trades and while it is good at them, it is a master of none.

If you have any specific questions, do let me know.

I have a specialized sirrus elite ..... Great hybrids .... I do take it along muddy tow/canal paths, parks and on the road for commuting. A good general purpose machine. I prefer the best bike for social and long distance riding, but if i had to pick just one bike, then the sirrus would be it.

I have a Sirrus Elite and agree with the above. Have ridden 60 miles+ and very comfy.Wheels are bombproof and shifting is slick...

I have a Sirrus Comp, used for work, shopping and trips here and there.Would also recommend them, great Hybrid

I have a sirrus, it now sits on the turbo in my parents garage. It was a great fast bike and done many a mile and could hold its own on club rides (its a flat bar road bike after all) but I eventually gave into the drop bars, easier and more comfortable on the hand IMO. The only thing I'm not sure about is the bike being down geared; mines a 32/42/52 and I preferred it but that probably not what the mainstream cyclist wants.

I have a Sport which i bought of flea bay it had pretty much brand new Marathon Plus tyres on it and cost me £162. It seems a nice bike although a small frame suited me just fine the bars were way to narrow so i had to get some wider ones due to some hand pain. Only used it for my commute in some seriously crappy weather recently and seems a solid comfy machine i would recommend it no problem.
