I wear varifocals too, but I find that the top of the frame gets in the way when I’m on the bike, especially when using the drops. For that reason I substitute a pair of Tifosi cycling glasses and carry my varifocals in a little bag on a cord round my neck and tucked into my jersey. My distance vision isn’t too bad, but I most definitely need the varifocals to deal with any mechanical issues, or to operate my phone.
