spin classes wtf?

I love a spin class. Depends on the instructor, the group and the music.
We have 80's cheese., a great laugh and PLF.
I also ride a bicycle on the road, a lot.

I'm not sure you've met my brain, but it prefers open fields, ickle baa lambs and silence to techno, bright lights and being shouted at by some gym bunny.
You seem to have made your mind up on spin classes as being all the same

I suppose it depends on whether the fitness aspect of cycling is an important factor - or not. For me it is not; but a useful bi-product. I don't really care how fast/slow I ride my bike, as long as I ride it.
I am with @The Velvet Curtain on this, in that I cycle more for the scenery and fresh air than anything else, so speed isn't important. At my age I'm never going to become particularly fast anyway!
