The EDL recently got a lot of support from the Faily Star. Nice of them to support the more extreme side of the BNP... the EDL was set up to encourage young men who were in the BNP and were leaning towards the NF views as the BNP thought they were harming their election chances (never mind the fact that the BNP councillers never turned up to meetings, etc)
What we have with the EDL is typical "we're the victim" psychology used, the very same taunts and shouts the old footie hooligans used to use. Someone in the crowd generally shouts out something to stir up the morons and then it provokes someone kicking off. Whether thats an antiEDL person or an EDL person it doesnt matter to them. They're there to be reactionary, provocative and sometimes violent.
Outside the protests the usual scaremongering and propaganda applies. I have had a workmate join them in the past, he was a daft kid and he knew it. I used to trash him in the political arguments and others ended up laughing at him. Oddly we all still liked the lad, he was just stupid.
