Having been at an international rugby match for the first time in years this weekend and thoroughly enjoying it, I was wondering if there are any other sports and/or events I should go to that might have passed me by...

I'm off to a Revolution track meeting early next year.
I like going to ballet - seriously!

What else could/should I consider? I might be limited due to my location, but all suggestions welcome.

Give a local football match a try. Doesn't have to be premier league showcase to be enjoyable, just a team you can have some sort of connection with so you can get involved in the game.
For me watching Arsenal play is like watching ballet, technically brilliant and beautiful. Watching Hull play is 90 minutes in the front seat of a rollercoaster.

Motorsport events are pretty good. Unfortunately it is looking like there'll be no British GP in 2010 and maybe 2011 too although F1 costs a lot anyway and there are cheaper things!

Good shout.
Knockhill isn't too far away from me, I'll check out next year's calendar.

Sooner or later, Noodley, you'll watch/learn to play golf, so might as well make it sooner!

I went to every Open from 1984 to 1990. Didn't watch much golf; an expensive way to go for a walk and a few beers

edit - One of my mate's brothers won the Silver Medal at the Open in 2004.

I find most rock concerts entertaining, I don't think I have ever seen aband live and thought, I want my money back, as someone else has said, live bands in pubs can be excellent as you get so close to the music, even folk music in a pub is great.

the Revolution is great but I also enjoyed a local crit at Crawley. Very low key and you can watch them go round and round while standing outside a pub!
I also watched a mountain stage of the Dauphin Libere which was great and you can ride the route too, afterwards, albeit a little slower and with a large lunch thrown in.

Yes, but how much of that enjoyment was because Scotland won?!!!!! Fairly unique experience in itself - I have to say I nearly fell off my seat when I heard. Good result.

I see the next Calcutta Cup is at Murrayfield. That's going to be a cracking game.
