I quite like sprouts but they give me bad wind, so I normally limit myself. Not a problem this Xmas, so every cloud...

I'm a big fan of sprouts but "crisp" sprouts are just SOOO wrong. When in doubt, aim for the slightly soggy end of the spectrum with lots of butter.

I tend to go by colour, when they start fading you've cooked them too long. I'd go for 15 mins max, then check one by eating it

Sprouts are full of goodness , especially when sprinkled upon food.

Not long, then chuck them in a hot wok with olive oil and sesame seeds and blast them for a couple of minutes. Best ever.

If you put them on to boil now, they should be just right for Christmas 2021..

Sprouts aren't compulsory, in the big sceme of things they're quite a modern addition to the "traditional" dinner anyway.
If you must, then sliced and stir fried with bacon, onions, chestnuts.

I'm having carrots instead, steamed for a couple of minutes then finished in the oven with butter and rosemary. Oh and roast lamb, so there's traditional for you eh?

Have what you fancy, not what relatively recent trends say you should.

I believe that a Commander of a Royal Navy warship once forbade carrots to be served in the officers' mess because they were a vegetable only suitable for other ranks. I'm inclined to agree.
