SRAM Apex Cable Replacement

Whilst I'm not experiencing any issues, I guess it's probably time to change the gear & brake cables on my Boardman CX. 18 months old and 3500 miles done, I'd like to get it sorted now than experience issues in my winter commutes.
It has SRAM Apex shifters/levers, can anyone recommend a suitable cable set? I've read that they need to be 1.1mm for the gears rather than the usual 1.2mm, might be a bit fussy because the pull ratio differs from Shimano? I presume normal 1.8mm can be used for the brakes.
Any advice appreciated..

Just go to your friendly LBS and buy them, and some cable ends. Consider changing outers at the same time. Pull ratio makes no difference to the cable.

My Boardman got Jagwire cables all round. Fits SRAM and Shimano.
Not cheap mind, but great quality.
