Wickwar this afternoon - breakaway, then two of the peloton.
Managed to spot Cav as he was whizzing past, but no-one else.

There were a lot of parked cars in Wickwar, both on the little hill up to the lights and along the main street. The former more of a potential problem than the latter.

The other amusing thing was a tractor coming out of the side road I was observing from, and inserting itself into the tail end of the caravan, just in front of the (I presume) stand-by ambulance and a few stragglers and motorbikes. The woman in the passenger seat of the ambulance did a wonderful horrified stare and hand-wave.

I wish I had put myself on one of the climbs now. They had a better view of who was who than I did!

I wanted to go up to Selsey Common to watch them get up that hill (and be demoralized about how long it takes me to get up it) but I was just too busy! Snuck off in time to cycle to Kingswood, got there to hear someone say they were only just leaving Dursley, so cycled on to Wickwar. Got several rounds of applause as I passed folks waiting, and a few cries of 'come on Froome!', 'go Wiggins' etc!

And got photographed a few times by folks getting their camereas set up. Hope they were prepared for people cycling 4 or 5 times my speed.

Last year the TOB came right past our house outside Blackburn and opposite a pub called the Bonny Inn there's a small estate road. Seconds after the peloton had raced past doing about 45 mph down the hill a pensioner drove blindly out of the road and turned straight across the path of the cyclists a few seconds earlier.

Yea that was a common spot this year, and with good reason. I wish I got up there, but I didn't have long because of work. Would like to see a pro ride up there!
