That was a superb ride by Chavanel... shame young Geraint couldn't quite hang in there with the big boys today, but he's already done enough to get himself noticed.

Wiggins is hanging in there nicely, and what about Nicholas Roche? Could end up emulating his old man one day.
Did Roche finish with that main bunch? I hadn't realised that.

On Thomas, I'm not sure if the reporter was trying to use the p'ture as an excuse for Geraint but he was really honest and said it was just an energy thing, hopefully he can come back for the White but there's a lot of riders ahead of him now; most notably Andy Schleck 2'42"
