sorry I should have said. I can't use drops because of a bad shoulder. But don't want to buy a new bike if I can help it

sorry I have never owned a pressure gauge. ever since I was small its always been that feels alright. I will probably get round to getting one but never really saw the need. I have never had a pinch flat and up until the accident my bike was comfortable' But the question of a suspension stem seemed an elegant solution for suspension on a road orientated bike and I wondered if anyone had tried one.

A long while ago I used a Girvin flexstem when i was touring - I have suffered from "bad hands" since i was very young - not just cycling - it worked pretty well - especially on rough tracks which im prone to investigate - Ive bookmarked the redshift and if it comes to fruition i might try

I used a girvan flexstem on my MTB for a number of years and it worked well. Really appreciated it riding on washboard ridged dirt roads in Iceland. Took it off when I got suspension forks. Sounds like buying a pressure gauge or track pump might be the best thing to do first and get tyre pressures optimised before buying fancy costly kit.

I would rather own a pressure gauge than a flex stem. I've tried both, the gauge is better.
