The rather weird social demographic of cycling forums means that sooner or later they always reach a critical mass of smug twattery and implode in spectacular fashion.
It does seem like the time of year, not being able to get out as much as you would in the summer, most forums seem to get a bit like this in the winter, or it could be the time of month, lol.
I don't take anything to serious on any forum, life is to short especially when you get to my age.
In response to the OP, I hadn't noticed it being particularly bad around here recently. There's one or two aggressive newcomers, but they'll calm down over time (or leave once they get bored). And contrary to what some people have said, and I agree with Crackle again here, it's not about the 'politics' part of the forum at all, and some of the nastiest arguments (such as they are) seem to be in places like Commuting.
In general, this place is well-run and friendly and is nowhere near the level of twattery, bat-shittery and arse-hattery one can find on many other special interest forums, whatever their social demographic.
