If you leave enough space you're just inviting undertaking...

I dislike the scenario where you are cycling in a narrow bus lane, and need to take primary to stop numpty black cabs passing as fast as possible within inches of you, but then invite motorcyclists to undertake.

Yeah, you're not kidding! I tend to do huge fear wobbles as though I'm dodging potholes when the mbikes are still a little way off. This almost always makes them pass slower and really wide.

You and BM are too slow then

I'd like to see some footage of you riding at 55mph then. Doing 30mph here without a great deal of effort, and the biker passes me at 55mph from a time/dist calc:

Obviously most of the time I outrun the fireblades (too slow off the line, I find).

But there are times when one wishes to take a more relaxed approach to cycling, and then I can experience issues.

BM, I'm impressed. From your other videos I didn't have you down as a speed merchant, but you're shifting it in that video! Forgive me if not, but is that stretch downhill? 30mph on the flat is respectable - are recumbents faster (I assume that's what you're on)? Respect, either way!

It's very slightly downhill, but then I've done 25mph the other direction, so the difference in slope isn't very big at all. With the same power output, I imagine I could do 40mph in this direction. I'm not a particularly fast or powerful rider, it's the bike mostly.

I have quite a long commute, btw, so I'm rarely putting out any intensity. For example, my last day was 3 hours of commute riding time and 6 hours of skating. That's quite a big day, and I certainly hurt after getting home.
