Seems to have been and gone up here in the Highlands, pretty windy at times today!

Antoinette's mother had a very lucky escape when this happened as she drove out the gate this morning :

Incredibly bad timing - a tree came down across the road and knocked most of another tree down right on top of her!

Thankfully she's not hurt, but the poor Mini-Bago's a write off! She was very lucky, normally she takes the Figaro out, but it refused to start this morning...

Doesn't bear thinking about what the result would have been in she'd been in the Figaro!

Anyone else had weather-related problems thanks to Caroline?

Down here there was no Caroline at all. Glad no one harmed tho.

The Costa Clyde rain magnet.
I'm right on the coast of Ayrshire and by our standards it was lively rather than stormy. I was still able to cycle the 1.2 miles to work this morning, part of it along the prom. We've had worse without it being given a name. Perhaps it was only named because the Met Office thought there was a chance of a leaf coming off a tree somewhere in the SE?

They have only been naming weather systems in UK since 2013, so before that it was just another weather system.
And the naming has nothing to do with whether it will hit the SE, but I do appreciate that you guys get ignored by the National Press.

We had an empty garden waste sack blow across from the side of the house into the front garden. That was a touch inconvenient.

Eeeek, very nasty, glad she is ok, but must have been shocked.
It looks like my car too, and same colour!
I live not far away, know the road well, it was certainly blowing a hoolie at times today:okay:.

Bloody hell that would have been scary  - glad she is safe. That last photo looks much worse than the first. Feel very lucky we're not experiencing any real problems down here on the east coast.

Quite windy in Sheffield, and it chucked it down with rain late afternoon yesterday. Just after I'd done some concreting in the back garden...

It snowed overnight - you can see bits of the Peak District from where we are, looks great with the snow on the hills. Sheffield is quite quirky weather-wise because of the hills. Our area had just over an inch of snow, whereas a few hundred yards away there's nothing.

In previous years, there's been 3 feet of snow on our road and at the same time, an inch of slush in the city centre which is quite a bit lower.

No ferries to Mull yesterday ( not that it takes much to put them off nowadays). Today nothing so far. Review at 0930 ish. Lots of others cancelled on the West Coast and Shetland off with one Orkney ferry stuck in Scapa Flow overnight unable to dock at either end. Film scenario but I suppose that has been overdone?

We've had some bitter flurry's this morning but it's too wet to stick and still too warm to stay once the flurry has passed.
