A storm last winter smashed some old glass panes and blew 6 sheets of polycarbonate from the greenhouse. I found 5 of them in my own garden, but the other one never turned up.

When I did the repairs, I put my house number and postcode on every panel with an indelible marker.

Since then I haven't suffered with wind at all, so I still don't know how honest my neighbours are.

Okayyyyyy --- scratches head.
I do still think they are better than 10 years ago, but I'm often far from impressed with thier accuracy.
I was going to quip that you appear to want the weather forecast to run like a train, to a timetable on a set route ........ there is however a wee problem with that analogy. The Met Office's accuracy beats that of several train operators .

I did an audax ride with SpuddyJones at the weekend and the forecast was spot on for the first 4 hours. It then said that we stood a good chance of getting caught in rain as we came over 2 big hills on the way back to Rochdale. In fact, we didn't get any rain at all. The thing is, we could see the rain starting up a couple of miles away to the NE from the tops of those hills. I think that was a good forecast even though it ended up being 2 miles out.

There are so many variables in weather forecasts, and the local topography can really have an impact.

And a few miles can mean the difference between rain passing overhead or just missing you. I went on a ride with a couple of members of the forum.... we had torrential rain for the last hour or two. As I approached home I noticed the dry roads and sunshine and found that they had had a pleasant afternoon, all a difference of 10 miles in total! Just mine ride had been under a chain of north-east moving rain cells, and home was just to the west of it!

There's a frame on the other side too. Hope Ewan doesn't blow it all away overnight.

Took the opportunity to fit a code lock for when I go out on the bike, as opposed to leaving it unlocked on a latch. Took a bit of fiddling to fit that and I could have oh so easily screwed up the door.
