Long article on TNT sports, very little on cycling but hints that prices might come down 🙏

Edit: article is paywalled through that link, sorry. I managed to read it for free without signing up somehow 🤷‍♂️

So, Warner Brothers Discovery becomes just Discovery, as Netflix have bought WB’s film and streaming arms.
I don’t know what this means for TNT Sports in the future, but I am pretty sure that Netflix prices will see another rise; maybe a significant one.

Who owns all the sports rights, though? WB or D?

I assumed Netflix were buying it all, but I could be wrong.

Only for people who pass eyetests or hearing tests, sadly. The rest of us aren't human, according to that ableist scum.
Huh?

You have to tick one box. Not sure how you would read the article, or anything on here if your eyesight is so bad you can't do that.

What does it say, in short?

Not a lot really. Just saying that TNT isn't doing as well as hoped, and may be looking to reduce prices.

Netflix are buying TNT Sports International- which I am guessing includes TNT sports UK

🙄 Yes, tick the box, then up pops the usual eye/hearing test. Have you passed enough of them in the past that it might trust you a bit and not test you as often, perhaps?

Also, I have a screenreader for articles since my sight problems a few years ago, although I don't need it much at the moment. Unsurprisingly, reCaptcha (which is not a captcha) does its best to defeat screen readers.

Thanks. Well done to those who resisted.

And then watch Netflix subs go up to £50/month!!!

I had the same thought, but if TNT isn’t doing as well as expected, (3 cheers for that) what chance Netflix can entice it’s current target audience to stump up for a bunch of unwanted sports channels?
Ultimately, I think TNT prices will come down, but unlikely to a level of affordability many of us would consider.
