STRONGLIGHT Safe Clip Set Help

Hi

My STRONGLIGHT Safe Clip Set came but they are not going to work with my front mudguard.

My front guard (A Giant Defy Fender Set) uses a single metal rod and loop as opposed to a two rod type which my rear fender has.

A quick sketch of the issue below.

Am trying to fit this after coming off badly on a hill ascent when the front wheel picked up something which then jammed the mudguard. Was lucky to get away without serious injury.

I can probably use this on the rear, but I need an alternative for the front.

Any help appreciated

Those clips are standard on these

Given the risks involved I'd just buy a new set. These are great and come in a variety of widths.

I don't think standard guards fit the Defy though ?
Isn't that why Giant make a "special" for that purpose ?
