Knackered, two weekends racing followed by a weekend adventure has left me with an empty battery. Potentially chasing my mate on e-mtb didn’t help, nor the pub afterwards, but it was a giggle.

Yep - breezy here too but bright so far.

I keep telling myself that the rain is good for the Galloway Forests, my garden, potential hose pipe bans and farming but as long as this doesn't go on and on. Forecast is wet for the rest of the week.

Don't know what you are doing in the Middle East* SG but it is time you came home. I explained the weather there to Beans and the lack of wildlife and greenery - especially hedges and ditches worth studying and, the very dry weather; hotter then the conservatory and stone floors and itchy rugs and even faster noisy cars and Halal cat food and he didn't like it.

*A 3hr time difference puts you somewhere there.

Will pick up Shorty later after her sleepover. It's been very quiet and we had extra Pizza topping as what we had was spread over smaller bases. No peaches were involved. I think I ate too much but tried my best to wash it down with a rather good Shiraz. Tough going, I know.

yes +3 hours and +45, much hotter in the sun, exposed metal really can burn you

may is usually about tolerable, but we're having a heatwave, decades of stuff in the tropics i know how to cope, but it's on the limit of baskability

friends ask why i don't move here (to avoid tax), well because the air smells of exhaust fumes, i hate the way many workers are treated, and it's a horrid climate much of the year

i do like the desert though, the bits without people are the best

tell beans it's definitely no weather for pussycats, met a ginger cat on my dawn stroll today, lazing next to a supermarket door to catch the cold air when it slid open - i obliged by nipping in for a packet of bourbons and some saudi crisps, chili flavour

There is a series of cartoons called 'Simon's cat' where the cat does cat stuff including getting in the way of work etc. Unfortunately, the author sold himself out to Disney and it's a pay per view You tube channel now (for all the good stuff).
