Went into our local Tesco today.
Strawberries - you would think that the 'misshaped' range would be cheaper. They aren't.
Two 400g punnets of best quality British strawberries - £3.00.
One 227g of 'misshaped' - 90p.
Go figure.
Also, has anyone else noticed that most of their prices are rounded ie. 50p, £1, £1.50, £2.00 etc. This started about 6 months ago and seems like they are taking the p*** to me.
I try to avoid Tesco and the other big operators in this sector as much as I can, but it's unavoidable sometimes.

Complaints about too much small change being given.

Was the the 2 punnets a time limited offer or the normal price?
2 for 1 offer which has been on for a while........ but even so you would expect the misshaped ones to be a lot cheaper, not more expensive!
Even without the offer, there isn't a huge difference in price.

So things things that are on offer are cheaper and things that are not aren't , you could be on the one show !

Without the 2 for 1 offer, the fruit is £7.50/kg while the misshapen fruit is £3.96/kg. I think that is quite a difference.
But when both products are next to each other on the shelf, why would anyone buy the misshaped ones which, I presume, they are trying to shift?

I don’t think I would notice such things

Simpler pricing suits me, it’s been this way for years - I only shop through their app.

My only complaint is too much plastic packaging.

Tesco doesn't have a pricing policy

I always compare the per kilo (or per unit) price when shopping, so I'd go for what is the best value, provided that I need or could use the quantity on offer.

I was in Morrisons yesterday for beans; I could buy a 400g tin for 60p or their multipack of 4x400g tins for £2.65.
That's a common trick by supermarkets, which annoys me more than your example.

Actually that’s how I select my products too. Total price probably more important a factor in the cheaper products.
