Did they pay the image consultants' bill before they noticed the missing comma and '&' symbol in the name?

Or W.H. Smith being renamed TG Jones. It had been around for 250 years and has now been replaced by a brand that nobody has ever heard of.

WH Smith has retained its name, merely sold its high street shops. So the buyer had to come up with a new title. I bet someone thought 'Alias Smith & Jones'... I've got it!

It was more Alas Smith & Jones that came to mind when I first heard about it.

They should have got Griff to unveil the rebranding.

Reminds me of the East Midlands Tourist board deciding east related to cold and midlands related to industrial and rebranding to the Shire Counties of Middle England Tourist Board:wacko:

The Glitter Band rebranded as the G Band (I suspect they knew something the rest of us didnt at the time) and it was not a success.

Hermes spent a fortune rebranding as Evri for no gain.

Aids slimming cubes were hastily rebranded as Ayds once the nasty disease of the same name was invented, and they disappeared from the shelves.

Rebranding rare works at any level, so why waste time and resporces? The inevitably is that at best they'll be no further forward, and more likely the rebrand will impede the implementation of their mission statement, and whoever is responsible for the mess will be promoted off the back of it.
