I met a fellow cyclist on Tuesday in a supermarket carpark.
Nice bloke and we chatted for a while about bike related stuff. It turned out that he lived in Canterbury, which is as good a place as any to live.
But now consider this....he was riding a full mountain bike and had to ride back home to Canterbury.
The supermarket car park where we were chatting is in Fulham, sw London.
All I can say is....maximum respect to this fella! Must have been damn hard work!

It's got to be 5 hours from Fulham to Canterbury, if going at a good pace.

Just a quick look on AA route finder, the direct route via the A2 from Fulham Broadway to Canterbury Cathedral is 65 miles, that is very good going on a road bike, let alone a MTB.
