Swimming shorts/trunks (outdoor pools)...........any regulations in Menorca ??

When we were in France they didn't allow baggy shorts type swimwear in the pools.........only speedo types.
My 70 year old physique no longer looks good in Speedo type thingies so they are out for me
Does anyone know if there are there any similar reg's in Menorca ??

Just found a Canvas Holidays forum that suggests it is a "French thing" because of hygiene.

You'll just look like the rest of the out of shape guys around the pool - I wouldn't worry.

I wear jammers which seem to be acceptable in speedo-only French establishments. Still tight, but long so less ... self conscious.

Around a tenner is what I pay.

The last time I went down a water slide in Chamonix, I was forced to wear Speedos. I'm not sure what the safety angle was. A young man passed me head-first on the top of the tube at great speed. The water in the pool at the bottom was faintly pink with the blood spilled by adventurers and dare-devils. Great fun though, apart from the wretched Speedos.

We were in Menorca last year and saw no rules, and no one complained about my baggies. Loved the place.

It's Spain, baggies will do fine.... bloody French. Just drop the England t-shirts....

Menorca is lovely. Cala Galdana is worth a day out. We stayed two weeks after driving through it one year to our hotel in another resort.

Transfer times can be a bit of a bugger though, as each resort is off a main arterial road, so it's off the big road, all the way down to a hotel or two, then back up to the main road, on to the next resort, and back down a small road, and repeat.

Thanks. I actually have a pair that I used to used when SCUBA diving........but nowadays I need something to cater for my belly
